Day 2
“People care about animals. I believe that. They just don’t want to know or to pay. A fourth of all chickens have stress fractures. It’s wrong. They’re packed body to body, and can’t escape their waste, and never see the sun. Their nails grow around the bars of their cages. It’s wrong. They feel their slaughters. It’s wrong, and people know it’s wrong. They don’t have to be convinced. They just have to act differently. I’m not better than anyone, and I’m not trying to convince people to live by my standards of what’s right. I’m trying to convince them to live by their own.”
― Jonathan Safran Foer

I feel well. Headache earlier so took an ibuprofen. Energy. Still a bit emotional about food. I dream of cheese. :)
Came upon "Death On a Factory Farm" on HBO …could not watch longer than a minute at suffering pigs. I cried and turned the channel.
Each passing minute, I wonder why I ever hesitated to stop eating animals. This is right.

“Veganism is not about giving anything up or losing anything; it is about gaining the peace within yourself that comes from embracing nonviolence and refusing to participate in the exploitation of the vulnerable”
― Gary L. Francione
Day 1…Begin it.
Guided by SPIRIT and Anthony Williams.
Vegan!! Vegan-ish. :)

I feel pretty good. Not too hungry. Still feeling a little mournful re missing sugar and grains. Feeling a bit sleepy this evening. May be being without coffee.
I miss Kathy. Wish I could tell her about my reading.
I want this to be JOYFUL. Not a chore. Not "doing time."
What I did right: Honored the guidance
What I could do better: Honor my meals.
